National Weather Service to hold storm spotter training

If you've ever wanted to become a trained storm spotter, now is your chance.
The National Weather Service offices in both Cleveland and Pittsburgh are set to host two SKYWARN training sessions in March and April.
According to the National Weather Service, the SYWARN spotter network is a volunteer program with between 350,000 and 400,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service.
To become a trained spotter you must attend one training session.
The National Weather Service office in Cleveland will be hosting a training session in Trumbull County at Kent State University's Trumbull Campus on Thursday, March 7th. Full details and a link to pre-register can be found by following this LINK.
Severe Weather Awareness Week in Ohio is March 17th through March 23rd.
In Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service office in Pittsburgh will be hosting spotter training in Mercer County on Wednesday, April 17th at the County's Emergency Management office. Full details and a link to pre-register can be found by following this LINK.
