Another Valley college is welcoming students who have been displaced following a sudden pause in enrollment at Eastern Gateway Community College.

East Ohio College in East Liverpool has developed a comprehensive plan to assist these students in completing their education without having to go far from home.

The college is offering an accelerated priority admission process and rapid transfer credit evaluation for these displaced students to help ease the anxiety of those who may be unfamiliar with the process.

"With our nursing program being accelerated, we have found that we have been able to have liberal transfer options for the potential students. EOC is able to provide transfer options that allows students to start right into nursing or industry specific courses for those students transferring from EGCC," said College President Samantha Esposito.

Additionally, the college has instituted a temporary waiver of application fees for all programs for Eastern Gateway students, as well as waiving the nursing program seating fee for Eastern Gateway students admitted to the Associate Degree in Nursing program.

Eastern Gateway students are also offered priority application processing for institutional grants, and federal resource aid is available for those who qualify.

Choffin Career and Technical Center in Youngstown is also offering help for displaced Eastern Gateway students. You can read more about what they're doing here.
