Boardman man accused of ransacking Youngstown animal hospital

Youngstown Police have charged a Boardman man in connection with the break-in and ransacking of a veterinary clinic.
Fifty-four-year-old Arthur Perkins was arrested Tuesday on a charge of breaking and entering.
According to police, the charge stems from a break-in reported on the night of February 20, 2024, at the Ebert Animal Hospital on Southern Blvd.
Staff members opening the hospital the next morning found cats had been released from their kennels and drawers were open and ransacked.
Police say filing cabinets had been left open and ransacked in the front office.
Drawers in all the exam, surgical, and other rooms had been open and ransacked. Some drawers were found on the floor.
The refrigerators and freezers were left open.
None of the safes were missing or open, but the keys to the money safe were missing from the front office.
After reviewing the surveillance video, Perkins was charged. He was arrested by U.S. Marshals.
