Worthington Enterprises recalls certain propane tanks due to fire hazard
Worthington Enterprises has issued a recall on its EVAS 20 lb. propane tank exchange cylinders due to a potential fire hazard.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled products could leak gas, which in turn poses a fire hazard.
The recalled products have the model number EVAS - M0859, have a serial number beginning with a W and a date code of either 06-23 or 07-23.
While the cylinders were originally, sold at AmeriGas's propane cylinder suppliers in New Hampshire and Eastern Massachusetts between July and August of 2023, consumers could have exchanged these cylinders with other propane distributors who would have then placed their own branded sleeve or label on them.
If you happen to have one of these cylinders, you're asked to stop using them immediately, close the top valve completely and return them to any AmeriGas propane exchange location for a free replacement.
