Youngstown Police say one person has died after a shooting caused a car crash on the city's East Side. 

Police say the driver was shot, causing them to veer off the side of the road into the woods on the corner of Truesdale and Hawn Street around 9:55 p.m. 

Firefighters say fire damage to the car was minor. However, they also found an 18-year-old man who had been shot.

 The victim was taken to Mercy Hospital in Youngstown, where he died.
 

A passenger in the car who called authorities wasn’t hurt.

 The name of the victim has not yet been released.
