One male suspect is currently in police custody after police say a verbal altercation led to shots being fired at a home in Poland Township.

According to Poland Township Police Chief Greg Wilson, officers were called to a home on the 2000 Block of West Manor Avenue in reference to gunshots shortly before 10:00 a.m. Friday.

Wilson says the male suspect was threatening another individual with a gun during a verbal altercation, which eventually led to shots being fired. Wilson says no one was struck by the gunfire. Wilson says the victim is believed to be an acquaintance of the suspect.

Wilson tells us he does not know the suspect's name, but says he's charged with aggravated menacing and obstructing official business and additional charges could be pending based on the results of a search warrant.

According to Wilson, he's currently working to get that search warrant authorized by the court.
