Students at Youngstown State University will have new parking options in near the future.

That's because the university recently received $220 thousand for a real estate acquisition of .499 acres on 337 Arlington St. and 359 Arlington St. on the western border of campus.

The properties contain two houses and adjoining vacant land close to several YSU properties for a new parking lot that will create an additional 170 additional parking spaces.

This will help the university replace the lost parking deck spaces on Fifth Avenue.

The money was approved by the Ohio Controlling Board.
