Austintown Police have cited a Youngstown man for a traffic accident that trapped both he and his daughter in their car and shut down part of Raccoon Road early Saturday.
According to a police report, a Buick being driven by 49-year-old Quincy Burgess veered off Raccoon Road near Austintown Middle School, traveling into a yard, striking a fire hydrant, and a mailbox, and rolling over before striking a utility pole.
Burgess and his 11-year-old daughter were trapped in the wreckage and were rescued by the Austintown Fire Department. Both were taken to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
The father told police he had been working two jobs and fell asleep while driving.
Burgess was cited for failure to control his vehicle.
