Police find deceased male during search warrant at Weathersfield apartment near school
An investigator from the Trumbull County Coroner's Office and agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation have joined police at a small apartment complex in Weathersfield.
Police from Weathersfield and Niles could be seen just after 7 a.m. on the 3800 Block of Niles Carver Road, just south of Seaborn Elementary School.
An armored vehicle from the Niles Special Response Team was also parked outside one of the apartments that was cordoned off with police tape.
According to a press release from Weathersfield PD, officers were serving a search warrant at the apartment and upon entry, they found a deceased male. It is not clear if this male is a suspect at this time.
According to information from Trumbull County dispatchers, the male is believed to have shot himself once officers gained entry.
The armored vehicle left the scene. The coroner's investigator arrived shortly before 9 a.m.
The coroner's office could not provide additional information as of now.
To learn what is taking place at the location, 21 News called the Weathersfield Police Department, but the phone wasn't answered.

An official at nearby Seaborn Elementary School told 21 News that the police presence has not impacted them and classes are going on as usual.
