Deceased Grove City priest under investigation for alleged abuse
A former Grove City priest who's been deceased since 2020 is now under investigation for alleged abuse.
According to the Catholic Diocese of Erie, Father Michael Allison is among four priests under investigation by the Diocese, according to a public disclosure list featuring priests who have been investigated in the past and those currently under investigation.
According to his obituary, Father Allison served as pastor for Beloved Disciple Parish in Grove City beginning in 2011, where he served until his death in June 2020.
He also served as a religious instructor at Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage in 2013 and as president of the Shenango Valley Catholic School System between 2013 and 2016.
Details of Father Allison's allegations are unclear at this time. Still, the Diocese says that allegations of priests who appear on the list can appear on the list for numerous reasons other than sexual abuse, including possession of child pornography, corruption of minors, and failure to prevent abuse they were aware of.
