The Mercer County Coroner and Sharon Police have released more information on the body found on the city's west side Sunday afternoon.

Coroner John Libonati says Zachariah Croom, the 16-year old African American male who was found in an outside stairwell on North Irvine Avenue did not die of foul play or that his death was a direct result of someone else.

However, Libonati says Hypothermia may have played a role.

Croom was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:20 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Mike Renner.

The autopsy was done Tuesday at noon by Forensic Pathologist Eric Vey of the Erie County Coroner's Office.

Additional forensic testing will be required to find out the exact cause and manner of death. Libonati says that may take up to eight weeks for results.

The cause of death has not been identified yet and will be pending the results of the forensic autopsy.

Sharon Police Chief Edward Stabile said his department will continue to investigate the circumstances around his death.

Libonati says the cause and manner of the Croom's death will be released following the autopsy and testing.
