Carroll Bruton
The suspect in a double-fatal arson in Warren Township will be evaluated for competency to stand trial.
According to court records, Carroll Bruton, who is charged with multiple counts of murder, arson, and aggravated arson, was supposed to appear in court Tuesday for a pretrial hearing.
However, a motion was filed in the Trumbull County court on Tuesday asking for all medical and counseling records pertaining to Bruton to determine whether or not he's competent to stand trial.
The Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office tells 21 News this evaluation has been ordered after an unspecified issue in the Trumbull County Jail.
During his arraignment, Bruton pleaded not guilty to his charges but was ordered to be held without bond because he posed a risk of serious harm.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Bruton's next hearing will be February 27.
