Warren product Matt Richardson is coming home, sort of.

The Warren resident was named the new head football coach at Harding at a special board meeting Saturday morning.

"I'm very excited and blessed with the opportunity," said the new first-year head coach.

Richardson, a Warren JFK graduate, has been coaching for 23 seasons, including at the former Rayen School., Harding, Solon, and Akron Hoban.

'I hope to bring a knowledge of experience and bring a toughness back to the city of Warren and I'm ready to get to work."

Richardson replaces Steve Arnold, who stepped down for another opportunity within the district.
