Farmdale logging company owner pleads guilty to cutting down trees on someone else's property

A Farmdale man who owns a logging company in Gustavus Township pled guilty on Monday to cutting down trees on someone else's property.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 57-year-old William Spithaler pled guilty to charges of grand theft, breaking and entering as well as vandalism.
The charges stem from Spithaler cutting down trees and taking them from a property that was not his own. The prosecutor's office says the amount of lumber involved was valued at $35,214.
Spithaler must pay the victim $35,214 in damages and could face a maximum of three and a half years in prison. He will be sentenced following a background investigation conducted by probation officers.
