SLIDESHOW: Voting now underway for PennDOT's 'Paint the Plow' contest
1/9
Online voting has begun for PennDOT's "Paint the Plow" competition with multiple Shenango Valley schools participating in the fun.
Recently, PennDOT invited students throughout Northwest PA to paint snow plow blades based on the statewide theme of "seat belts are always in season."
This prompted students from multiple high schools in Mercer and Lawrence Counties to get their creative juices flowing and come up with their designs for the plows, which can be seen in the slideshow above.
The following schools took part in this contest:
MERCER COUNTY:
- Commodore Perry Jr./Sr. High School
- Mercer High School
- West Middlesex High School
LAWRENCE COUNTY:
- Laurel Middle/High School
- Lawrence County Career and Technical Center
- Mohawk Jr./Sr. High School
- Neshannock Senior High School
- Shenango Jr./Sr. High School
Folks can vote on their favorite plows through an online survey here. Simply click the district with your respective county and vote for your favorite.
The plow that receives the most votes in each district will be deemed the "fan favorite for that area. Additionally, the plows are also eligible for the honor of "Judge's Pick," which will be determined by PennDOT personnel.
Folks have between now and January 15 to vote. The winners for both categories will be announced during the week of January 21.
