Its been one year since 17-year-old Gavin D. Beighley was shot and killed while bicycling with a group of friends along East Budd Street near Dock Street in Sharon.

Today, Jan. 7, friends and family gathered to remember the late teen and his memory.

Curtis Coleman III, 19, of Wallis Avenue, was arrested for the shooting days later.

Police interviewed Coleman’s younger brother, who told them his older brother had fired shots at the bicyclists.

Investigators say they found six spent shell casings at the crime scene.

After he was arrested, police say Curtis Coleman admitted firing the shots at the bicyclists and hid the gun in his room.

Coleman was charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and carrying a gun without a license.

His case is still being handled in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas.
