Hazardous material from the East Palestine train derailment have spilled in Geauga County early Tuesday morning.

According to a press release from the Russell Fire Department, a tanker truck hauling the material had crashed at the intersection of Chagrin Mills and Chillcothe Road not long after 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews on scene identified the contents of the truck to be Class 9 hazardous material. Crews say approximately four to five gallons of this material was spilled at the scene.

Crews from the Russell Fire and Police Departments, as well as HAZMAT crews, Ohio EPA, Ohio Public Utilities Commission, OSP, Valley Enforcement Group Accident Investigation Unit and Norfolk Southern all responded to the crash.
