An expired license plate led to the arrest of a nurse facing charges for allegedly ignoring the lice infestation of a patient at a Youngstown nursing home.

A Poland Village Police officer pulled over a car for the expired plate on Friday, only to discover that the 46-year-old driver was wanted by authorities for patient neglect and gross patient neglect.

According to an affidavit filed by a special agent with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Robin Urichko was a registered nurse at a Canfield Road care facility in October 2021 when she failed to document or treat a lice infestation and ear wound on a patient who had been entrusted into her care.

The affidavit says the alleged neglect led to the patient being harmed.

It would be nearly two more years that Urichko would be charged with the misdemeanors and ordered to appear in Youngstown Municipal Court.

When Urichko failed to show up for her October 11th hearing date, a warrant was issued by the judge.

After spending part of this past weekend in jail, Urichko was arraigned on Monday. She is free on $2,000 bond and faces another court hearing on February 2, 2024.
