Boardman Fire Department to launch ambulance service
The Boardman Fire Department has announced on Thursday that it will soon be launching its very own ambulance service.
According to a press release this service, set to begin in January of 2024, aims to enhance emergency medical services in the community, alleviate stress on private ambulance companies and facilitate mutual aid with surrounding communities.
According to Boardman Fire Chief, Mark Pitzer, this decision came after several months of planning and discussion.
"This new service will act as a safety net for emergency calls, reducing response times, supporting both ambulance and fire personnel, and ultimately improving health outcomes for our residents," Chief Pitzer said.
The service will operate 24 hours and seven days a week and significantly enhance the township's response times and capabilities and improve residents' access to critical care in times of need.
