The Ohio Professional Conduct Board has recommended a public reprimand for the former law director of Campbell after it was discovered he forged signatures during an estate issue in the Probate Courts.

According to the board, "through clear and convincing evidence," Brian Macala engaged in misconduct when he missed several court deadlines and even forged the signatures of an executor of the state and four beneficiaries in 2020.

Macala admitted to forging the signatures, according to the complaint filed by the beneficiaries.

While the board said Macala conducted misconduct, this did not negatively impact those involved or alter the outcome of the estate case.

In addition to being reprimanded, Macala was also ordered to pay for the costs of the proceedings.

While the board issued their decisions, those involved in the case has 20 days to file any objections to the case.

Macala has also recently been accused of stealing an election opponent's campaign leaflets from someone's home.
