Youngstown police are investigating after a homicide Saturday afternoon.

According to the release, the fatal shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of E. Midlothian Boulevard.

Police say they received a call for gunfire and a man who had been shot in that area. Officers and EMTs began life-saving measures before he was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The release lists the victim as a 22-year-old Black male. The suspect hasn't been caught.

The 1900 block of E. Midlothian is a well-traveled area and police believe someone may have been in the area when the shooting occurred.
