A Hubbard man will be spending over a decade behind bars for sex crimes against children including the sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy.

According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 67-year-old David Kerester pled guilty to an 11-count indictment with charges of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance in the second and fifth degrees, pandering obscenity involving a minor and sexual contact with a minor.

Kerester was sentenced to 14 to 18 years in prison on these charges.

The charges stem from a sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy that occurred two decades ago in 2003, as well evidence of child pornography in Kerester's possession. Police say the sexual assault incident was recorded on video.

Kerester is now a Tier 2 sex offender and must register his address with the sheriff's office twice a year for 25 years.

According to the prosecutor's office, the victim in this case would not cooperate with the state.
