There's little more than ash and debris where two houses once stood in a neighborhood on Youngstown's Southside.

Emergency crews faced towering flames that leaped between two homes in the 300 block of Cleveland Street.
 
A fire official tells 21 News that one of the vacant houses caught fire before 1 a.m. Friday before spreading to the other home. 
 
Right now, it's unclear what caused the initial fire.
