Canfield student gets highest possible ACT score
A Canfield student has accomplished something that very few people can say they have.
Canfield High School Junior, Tarik Mashqbeh has achieved a composite score of 36 on the June 2023 ACT test. This is the highest possible composite score a student can get on the test.
According to a press release, only about one quarter of 1% of students who take the ACT earn a top score. In the U.S. class of 2022, only 3,376 out of 1.34 million students who took the ACT earned a perfect score.
"Tarik's achievement reflects not only his dedication but also the commitment to academic excellence we value at Canfield Local Schools. We're incredibly proud of his accomplishment and it speaks to the high caliber of students within our district," said Canfield Superintendent Joe Knoll.
The test consists of English, mathematics, reading and science. Each scored on a scale of 1 to 36. A composite score is the average of the four test scores. According to the release, Mashqbeh got a 36 on each individual section.
