One person has been taken to the hospital after their vehicle crashed into a tree on State Route 45 in Goshen Township.

The accident happened around 8:18 p.m., according to a 21 News reporter on scene.

The car appears to have semi-wrapped around the tree it collided with, trapping the driver inside.

Emergency crews from Damascus, Green Township, Goshen and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were on scene and had to use the jaws of life to pull the driver from the car.

The victim, a 30-year-old male, was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

At this time it's unclear what caused the crash.
