Mahoning County Dog Pound workers treat shelter pups to Thanksgiving meals

Thanksgiving is a time most people spend with family and that was the case for pups at the Mahoning County Dog Pound.

Dog warden staff made turkey and carrots for the over 70 dogs in the building, mixing them in with their normal kibble.

Within four hours, workers and volunteers took the dogs out for some exercise before treating them to a Thanksgiving dessert.

Staff members made homemade pie crusts and filled them with canned pumpkin and whipped cream.

You can see that the dogs really enjoyed the treat.
