A home in Trumbull County has been destroyed after a fire with an "unknown explosion" Tuesday night. 

According to a post on the Farmington Township Fire Department's Facebook page, crews were dispatched to a home on the 5000 Block of Stroups Hickox Road around 5:30 p.m. for a fire at an occupied residence.

Crews say an occupant of the home was assisted out by a delivery driver at the scene and was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. 

The fire was upgraded to three-alarms due to fire load, manpower and extensive overhaul according to the Facebook post. Smoke was prevalent for awhile after the fire due to a large amount of smoldering debris.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Responding departments including Farmington, Bazetta, Bristol, Bloomfield, Champion, Mesopotamia, Middlefield, Mecca, Parkman, Southington, the Trumbull County Sheriff's Department and the Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office.
