Second person arrested in Youngstown child rape investigation
A woman who shares a Youngstown home with a suspected child rapist has also been arrested in the case.
Sixty-year-old Rita Crockett was booked into the Mahoning County Jail Monday on one felony count of endangering children.
Crockett has the same Hilton Avenue address as 64-year-old Mark Andrews who has been indicted on two counts of rape, one count of felonious assault, and one count of child endangering.
According to the indictment, Andrews engaged in sexual conduct with a 5-year-old child in December of last year. The indictment also says the child was seriously harmed.
An indictment alleges that Crockett failed to protect the child. She'll be arraigned in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Andrews, who has been in the county jail since U.S. Marshals arrested him on October 13, faces a court hearing on November 30.
