Some Valley stores open Thanksgiving Day: Not Walgreens

Although big box stores like Walmart have reversed the trend of being open on Thanksgiving Day, some Valley stores will be doing business on the holiday.  Most Walgreens won’t be among them.

The pharmacy retail chain announced that it is closing nearly all its stores and pharmacies on Turkey Day, except for the 24-hour locations.  The nearest Walgreens 24-hour store to the Valley is in Alliance, Ohio

If you find yourself needing some items on the holiday, the following stores are open on Thanksgiving Day:

• Bass Pro Shops - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Big Lots - 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• CVS - varying hours.
• Dollar General - 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Dollar Tree - Various hours
• Family Dollar - Locations are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Giant Eagle - Open on Thanksgiving Day until 3 p.m.
• Meijer - 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
