A home invasion in Warren leads to a mother of four's murder.

At around 2:00 a.m. this morning some residents who live in a typically quiet neighborhood were awakened and shocked by the sound of multiple gunshots fired, possibly from two different weapons.

Then they heard screaming in the 900 block of Francis Avenue SE.

"I would say eight or nine shots. I just called 911 and said you need to call a cop and an ambulance because I heard screaming," Lauren Elder said.

Some neighbors who didn't want to talk with us on camera tell us they ducked and by the time they felt it was safe to look outside all they saw were the lights from police and first responders.

Neighbors say Ashante Kirksey had moved into the home about two weeks ago.

They tell 21 News her kids were nice, and polite.

"I was told there were kids in the house when it happened. We heard they are ok," Elder said.

They can't imagine the trauma the victim's children are going through.

Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold tells us the victim is an extended family member, who helped raise her younger sisters and was very caring.

She was a mother with four children and she was a Nurse.

"She was a great mother and friend. I just looked at her Facebook page and she has numerous posts of people loving on her. She had four children and she is really remembered for being just an overall great person. Lovely personality, always smiling," Warren Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold said.

She tells us from her understanding Kirksey's boyfriend was the intended target.

Soon after shots were fired one man ran across nearby yards down the street, with another man running after him.

Police looking for suspect.

Police issued a murder warrant for 19 year old Noel Flores, whose birthday is 2/27/2004.
