A Warren teen was handed his sentence for the murder of a man during a cell phone sale back in 2022.

Eighteen-year-old Gavin Roberts was sentenced to 42 years to life in prison on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and burglary. He will have his first chance at parole in 25 years.

The charges stem from an incident where Roberts met up with 37-year-old Brice Hilton to supposedly sell him a cell phone. At one point during the transaction, Hilton was shot in the head by Roberts.

Roberts was 17 years old at the time of the murder, but was tried as an adult. He was found guilty earlier in October.
