The longstanding JCPenney in Austintown has officially closed, but the township will have a new store to look forward to soon.

Joe Anthony with A2Z Real Estate says it's too soon to announce what store or stores will be moving into the space, but he is confident Austintown shoppers will be excited about the new place.

Anthony did call it a 'nationally recognized retailer,' and said he's hopeful that there will be an announcement in the next several months.

In the meantime, JCPenney is working on moving out, and 21 News is working to learn who will move in.
