Major route to Eastwood Mall, Niles Cortland Road reopens early
The route was originally reported to reopen within five days, but it had instead opened one day ahead of schedule.
A major route to the Eastwood Mall Complex and Niles Cortland Road has reopened ahead of schedule.
State Route 46 at Niles Cortland Road had closed on Sunday, October 22 for bridge demolition work. The route was originally reported to reopen within five days, but it had instead opened one day ahead of schedule.
This means that Route 46 is fully reopened in both northbound and southbound directions with ramps to and from Route 82.
This closure and bridge demolition were part of a larger ODOT project to construct a "diverging diamond interchange" at Routes 46 and 82 in order to improve traffic safety in the area.
There will still be some lane restrictions on Route 82, but access to the mall from Route 46 remains free flowing.
