The suspect in a fatal shooting on Youngstown's north side has been indicted by a grand jury.
According to the indictment filed on Thursday, 29-year-old Keylon White allegedly shot and killed 28-year-old James Merchant in a shooting on the 900 block of Alameda Avenue on the morning of Wednesday, August 9.
White was indicted on one count of murder.
Merchant's death was originally being investigated as a suicide, but police say once the Mahoning County Coroner examined his body, the wounds did not appear to be self-inflicted as police initially thought.
Merchant was found dead in an SUV at the scene.
According to court records, White has not been arrested yet, but a warrant has been issued for his arrest on Thursday.
