Woman accused of walking into Austintown home, pepper spraying resident
A Youngstown woman has been arrested after allegedly barging into an Austintown home and pepper-spraying a woman who lived there.
A 23-year-old woman told police that 26-year-old Hannah Michalak walked into her Rita Court home uninvited earlier this month and sprayed the 23-year-old woman with pepper spray and called her a “b*tch”. According to the alleged victim and her mother who was there at the time, Michalak then left the home.
The 23-year-old told officers that she had been dating Michalak’s former boyfriend prior to the incident.
Police say that although the woman’s face was red and swollen, she declined medical treatment.
On Thursday, nine days after the incident, police stopped Michalek’s car off Route 46, and took her into custody. The arresting officer says two cans of pepper spray were found in the car’s glove compartment.
In addition to the burglary and assault charges filed in Austintown, Police say Michalek was also wanted on a theft warrant filed in Boardman.
