Trumbull overdose deaths remain high despite opioid lawsuits
There have been 81 overdose deaths and eight probable still pending toxicology reports in Trumbull County through the end of September, which is around the same number of overdose deaths in the county in 2022.
The overdose deaths at the same time last year stood at 85.
So far, the age demographics of overdose deaths ages shows people in their 40s with the highest deaths.
According to the Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Lawrence D'Amico, the statistics show deaths highest with people in the 40s and 50s, closely followed by those in their 30s.
There were 24 OD deaths of people in their 40s; 22 deaths between ages 50 to 59; 21 deaths between ages 30 to 39; from 60 to 69, nine deaths; ages 20 to 29, 7 deaths and one death of someone over 70.
In overdose death in Trumbull County so far this year, there have been 50 white males, 19 white females, 10 black males and 2 black females that have died.

The Ohio Supreme Court was recently asked to weigh in on a question that could determine whether three major pharmacies owe Trumbull and Lake counties $650 million awarded by a federal court for contributing to the nation’s opioid epidemic.
