Trumbull County Court reviewing Tuesday courtroom scuffle to determine future security measures

There was quite the commotion in the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas earlier this week when a male disrupted the trial of a man who shot a Farrell man during a cell phone sale by lunging at and punching the defendant.
This incident now has court employees reviewing what happened with security and determining ways to prevent future incidents like this from happening again.
Magistrate Ashley Hall tells 21 News the court is unable to share its current or future security plans with the public, but does tell us security procedures are being reviewed in response to this incident.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when a male, identified as 32-year-old Destin Gregory got up, jumped over a banister and began punching 18-year-old Gavin Roberts, who was on trial for the murder of of 37-year-old Brice Hilton in November of 2022.

As a result of this incident, Gregory was arrested and charged with assault, resisting arrest and contempt of court. He was also banned from any future proceedings in this case.
One day after the scuffle, Roberts was found guilty of aggravated murder and robbery, but was found not guilty of aggravated burglary.
Roberts is scheduled to be sentenced on these charges in court on October 26 at 1:00 p.m.
