Boardman park readies for Sunday's Oktoberfest
As the leaves begin changing colors from green to red and gold, Boardman Rotary begins preparing for the annual Oktoberfest this Sunday.
The outdoor arts and crafts event is scheduled to take place in Boardman Park on October 1.
More than 150 vendors will be at the park for the one-day event, which draws more than 5,000 people each year.
The show includes vendors offering jewelry, baked goods, custom products, and clothing. The food court will offer favorites including sausage sandwiches, fries, and sweet treats.
The YMCA of Boardman will provide entertainment with fun for kids and families. Live performances will be held throughout the day at the Maag Pavilion in the Park, and the Boardman Spartan Marching Band will march down the midway.
Oktoberfest opens at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. There is limited parking onsite, as well as offsite parking with bussing provided at Southwoods Commons on Southern Blvd., just one-quarter-of-a-mile south of the park.
Admission is $5.00 per person. Children under 12 are free.
Additional information is available on the Boardman Rotary Oktoberfest website.
All funds raised support local schools, organizations, and non-profits such as the Boy Scouts, Easter Seals, Beatitude House, Salvation Army, and the YWCA.
