Arraignments set for defendants in Farrell murder plot
The two defendants in a Farrell murder case had their charges held for common pleas court.
Formal arraignments for both Da'Ryan Allen and Marcedes McKelvey are set for November 28th.
Allen, 19, and McKelvey, 24, are accused of setting up the murder of 39-year-old J.B. Ray Brown earlier this month.
According to a complaint filed by investigators, McKelvey called Brown to her Wallis Avenue apartment at around 9 p.m. McKelvey claimed Brown, who is the father of her child, was allowed to enter the apartment and claimed he was being chased by some men.
The complaint says McKelvey told police that Da'Ryan Allen knocked on the door, saying he knew Brown was inside and that he was armed with a gun with a 50-round magazine. McKelvey told officers that Brown went back outside and she heard several shots and some men running away.
One of the bullets went through McKelvey's living room window where her three-year-old daughter was at the time.
Brown was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The investigation found that McKelvey had been with Allen earlier in the day and that he had an AR-style weapon. Police say they also found that McKelvey sent texts to Allen's phone before the shooting, telling him that Brown was at her apartment and that Allen should come to the back door.
Investigators say Allen denied being at the apartment during the shooting, but later claimed he was there and saw two other men shoot Brown.
Allen and McKelvey remain jailed without bond.
McKelvey also faces charges of criminal solicitation to commit murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and endangering children.
Allen is also charged with conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, and tampering with evidence.
