A new mental health care facility opened its doors in Howland.

MGH Health Care held its grand opening Monday morning at its new location on Route 46.

The owner of MGH Health Care told 21 News there aren't many psychiatrists in the Valley and this will help those in need of treatment for things like depression, anxiety and PTSD.

A lot of these cases have been in young people affected by the pandemic.

"They became isolated and had to stay in their homes for a year or two depending on the situation," MGH Health Care owner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner Mary Hall said. "That made them more anxious. There are a lot more adolescents and even as those ones have graduated too from after the pandemic, they're in their early 20s."

Hall treats both children and adults and takes Medicaid, Medicare and most commercial insurance.
