Warren man arrested for March murder
A Warren man has been arrested for a murder committed in the city earlier this year.
Desemen Douglas Jr., 24, of Clearwater Street was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on Friday.
According to Warren Municipal Court records, police issued an arrest warrant for Douglas on the same day he was arrested.
Online court information states that the murder occurred on March 26 this year. However, that record provides no information about the name of the victim.
When contacted by 21 News, the city prosecutor directed us to Warren Police Detective Michael Altiere, who has not returned our calls asking if the murder charge against Douglas stems from another case Altiere is investigating.
Altiere is the detective assigned to investigate a March 26th murder at Hampshire House apartments, which is the only Warren murder on that date found in the wfmj.com archives.
Ruby Sanchez,43, died at Trumbull Regional Medical Center after being taken there for a gunshot wound.
Officers were called to investigate reports of shots fired on 5th St. SW at the apartment complex just before 1 a.m. on that date.
According to dispatch records, a resident of the complex called to report that a bullet came through her window as she heard several shots fired.
Police have already charged 19-year-old Jamarr Jenkins of Kenmore Avenue in connection with that incident.
In addition to the murder charge against Jenkins, the Trumbull County grand jury is considering charges of child endangerment because a two-year-old boy in the victim’s apartment was wounded in the hand.
