A man was sentenced in Lawrence County court on Tuesday for the murder of an eight-year-old boy.

47-year-old Keith Burley was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for the stabbing death of eight-year-old Mark Mason.

He was found guilty of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person earlier this year in August.

Police believe Burley stabbed Mason, his girlfriend's son, to death during an argument in a home on High Street in Union Township in July of 2019.

Witnesses say Burley repeatedly yelled "die" while stabbing Mason.

Burley represented himself in this case.
