Boardman Police were in the process of arresting 51-year-old Youngstown man Ernesto Cuevas over a domestic dispute when, according to a police report, he began yelling at officers and bystanders, detailing various ways he would murder them.

Boardman Police were initially called on Sunday to the home of Cuevas's mother, who said Cuevas had entered her home and would not leave.

Cuevas's mother told officers that he had arrived in the evening on Saturday, where he then refused to leave and "began taking food items out of the cupboards and spilling items in the kitchen, making a mess."

A household member told police that she was a victim of domestic violence from Cuevas, who had to be held back by another family member who was scared Cuevas would assault her again.

When police arrived, they said Cuevas could be heard yelling in the home's basement by officers, who went downstairs to find Cuevas in only a pair of boxers.

After being taken into custody, Cuevas reportedly "yelled non-stop and made countless direct threats." The officer writing the report wrote, "Cuevas said he would come to my house and kill me and would start killing Boardman cops."

"Cuevas went into extreme detail on his threats to murder Boardman Police Officers and stated he would wait in the bushes until he saw one and snipe them, he would approach one sitting in their patrol car pretending to ask for help and then shoot them," the report says.

Due to the threats against officers, Cuevas was charged with intimidation and retaliation in addition to the charge of domestic violence.

This wasn't Cuevas's first brush with the law, either. On Friday, September 15th, Cuevas was arrested on charges of obstructing official business after giving a false identity to an officer who happened upon Cuevas while stopping to get a drink and conduct a business check at the Shell on Market St.

At that scene, officers reported that Cuevas had black paint on his face and told officers he was "playing survival."

Cuevas was arrested at that scene and booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Friday before being released later that day.

The report of the gas station incident also has Cuevas making several threats against police, telling officers he "could whoop [his] a--" and kicking the partition in the cruiser while in transit to the Boardman Police Department.

Cuevas will face a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, September 19th.
