A trial hearing for a West Virginia man accused of murdering an East Liverpool man nearly two years ago has been moved from its original date of Sept. 5.

Elvin Tisdale, 32, of Newell, West Virginia, was charged with aggravated murder, murder, and weapons offenses in relation to the shooting death of 20-year-old Brycen Douglas in 2021.

According to police, Douglas was killed in front of a home on Pennsylvania Avenue in East Liverpool.

Police told 21 News at the time of the crime that people were standing on the porch of the house when an argument broke out.

A person then ran up to the porch and began shooting at the crowd.

A new hearing for the case has been scheduled for February 24, 2024.

At this time, it's unclear why the case was moved.

If convicted, Tisdale could face life in prison.
