A salesman at a Boardman car dealership faces criminal charges after police say he transferred nude photos and videos from a customer’s phone.

Forty-year-old John Litman of Sharon was arrested Tuesday following a month-long investigation that began in mid-July when the boyfriend of a 24-year-old woman told police that six pictures and two videos of her wearing only lingerie or nothing at all had been deleted from her phone.

According to a police report, when the woman was at the dealership on Market Street to buy a car on July 19, Litman asked for her phone’s password, purportedly to make a Bluetooth connection with a vehicle.

Investigators allege that unbeknownst to the woman, Litman also downloaded her videos and photos that were in a folder on her phone. Police say in doing so, Litman also deleted the images from the woman’s phone.

Three days after the woman was at the dealership, the business manager contacted the woman and told her they were aware of the alleged incident and were reporting it to someone higher up the management chain.

Litman appeared in county court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to charges of voyeurism, telephone harassment, and unauthorized use of property.

No plea was entered to a felony count of pandering obscenity.

Litman was freed from the Mahoning County Jail on a $7,500 bond awaiting a future court hearing.
