21 News has received multiple emails and calls to our newsroom regarding fighter jets flying at high speeds through various communities throughout the Mahoning Valley.

Reports from viewers came from Columbiana, Austintown, Newton Falls, Lordstown and Vienna Township.

21 News reached out to the Air Traffic Control tower for the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport who tells us the reason for the presence of the jets was a funeral flyover.

According to an obituary found on the James Funeral Home website, a military flyover was scheduled for Thursday at noon for 90-year-old Albert "Junie" St. Clair of Leavittsburg.

St. Clair served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He served between 1952 and 1955. The full obituary can be read here.
