Poland's Purins shines in AAU Championships

Maddox Purins, a sixth-grade student at Poland Local Schools, is a member of the Ohio Basketball Club, which is an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Under Armour affiliated travel basketball team out of Cleveland, Ohio.

In June, Purins helped lift his team to the Under Armour Future Circuit National Championship where he scored 29 points.

Under Armour then invited the top 16 teams from the United States and Canada to play in an invitation-only tournament in Las Vegas in July.

After three days of competitive play, Purins' team --Ohio Basketball Club -- won the championship in Vegas and Purins scored 22 points in the win.

He also recorded double-digit rebounds in both games.
