Ohio is just over 3,000 poll workers shy of it's 31,811 worker goal with just under two weeks to go before the August 8th special election.

As of Tuesday, July 25th, Ohio still needed 3,060 workers to meet it's goals, according to the Secretary of State's poll worker tracker.

Need is different by county, and 35 counties have met their goals. The other 53 counties are short by varying amounts, with Trumbull and Mahoning counties being short 233 and 84 poll workers respectively. Columbiana county is also short on their goal by 24 poll workers.

Every county in the state has met the minimum poll worker requirement, but worker supplies short of the goal could lead to longer lines on election day, especially if poll workers have to miss election day because they are sick or an emergency arises.

Anyone looking to sign up to be a poll worker can do so at VoteOhio.gov/DefendDemocracy. Poll workers are paid for their time.
