Person of interest sought in suspected Howland arson
Investigators now believe a fire at the Mayfair laundromat in Howland was arson.
They believe the person pictured in security images is responsible for the fire and are asking the public to come forward with any information that may lead to their arrest.
This joint investigation is being conducted by the State Fire Marshal, Howland Township Police and Fire Departments. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee to encourage witnesses to come forward and hold the perpetrator accountable.
Earlier Monday morning, firefighters from several communities were called to put out the fire.
A fire alarm was reported at the Mayfair laundromat on Elm Road NE in the Golden Point Plaza shortly after 4:30 a.m.
Dispatchers were told that flames were coming through the roof.
Firefighters could be seen on a ladder above the roof of the business and were also checking adjacent businesses for damage.
