Niles Police Department makes multiple felony arrests
Niles Police made five felony arrests this past week by using security cameras.
On Wednesday, July 19, officers were alerted by Flock cameras of a blue Scion XB entering the Eastwood Mall Complex that had a full state extradition warrant linked to the registered owner.
The warrant consisted of 32 count of rape, 33 count of gross sexual imposition and 16 counts of sexual battery. Officers located the Scion at the Eastern Buffet and arrested James M. Stephens of North Jackson.
On Friday, July 21, right before 3 p.m., cameras alerted officers that a stolen Chrysler 200 from Warren had entered the city. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of Dollar General on 422.
Officers arrested Aundrea S. London and Kevin R. Ferguson, both of Warren.
Also on Friday, Flock cameras notified officers that a white Astro Van that was registered to a driver with multiple active warrants for methamphetamine possession was entering the city. Joshua M. Braithwaite of Warren was arrested at the Fuel Plus gas station.
At 6:30 p.m., officers were notified that a Doge Ram truck that was registered to an owner with active warrants was traveling on Youngstown Warren Road. Officers pulled the vehicle over on Niles Cortland Road, and arrested Seth Wright of Girard for active warrants, as well as a passenger George Kaczmark, also from Girard, for active warrants.
Around 7 p.m. on Friday, officers arrested Jessica Kelly of Youngstown for receiving stolen property after officers were notified that a stole Kia Soul that Kelly was driving was traveling on South Main Street. She was arrested at the Shell Gas Station on Vienna Avenue.
